Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
We probably won't answer all of your questions, so feel free to reach out and ask more. All our contact info is on the Contact Page.
May I come into your shop?
You're always welcome! You can schedule a repair inspection or, if you're vacationing in the area and want to see the shop, just use the Schedule A Repair Inspection button above to find a time that works for you.
Where do I get a box to ship in?
Use what you already have from another shipment or product you've recently received. If you don't have one, go to your local retail store (any store) and ask if they have a box you can have - they're just recycling them anyway and are happy to give it to you. If all that fails, go to your local shipping store and they'll help you pack it up... but you'll buy a box from them. To learn how to properly pack your box, watch this video.
My instrument is in a case... do I need a box?
Yes. No shipping company will take your instrument if it's not in a box. To learn how to properly pack your instrument, watch this video.
Can you fix this?
If you have a brass, woodwind or orchestra instrument, then yes we can. We work on instruments needing really minor repairs to those that have been run over by a bus! Anything can be fixed... but if it has been run over by a bus, maybe it's worth calling us to discuss before shipping it in. If you have specific questions about a repair, never hesitate to just call or email and ask. See the Contact page for that info.
How quickly will I get it back?
We make every attempt possible to get instruments fixed within a week and back out to you. Factors that may delay this include your response time to approve the repairs, how far away you are from our shop, availability of parts, and the time of year (summer time is REALLY busy in the shop and repairs will take longer over the summer).
What's it cost to ship it?
We pay to get your instrument to us for repair, then you pay the return shipping. We ship a lot of instruments, so the rates we get are competitive and we only charge what we're charged. Nothing more.
Do you have a loaner?
Maybe. We have a limited supply of loaner instruments, and they are often already out, but you should always ask if you're in need of one! If you're shipping to us, just make a note that you'd like a loaner and we'll see what we can do.
