Core Values
I really like going to work each day. The people I choose to have around me add to this and, consequently, I am very particular about who I allow in. If you'd like to explore one of the opportunities to work with me, then look over the Core Values of Premium Music Products. If they align with who you are, then by all means, click the button below and introduce yourself to me. If not, I get that, we're not for everybody.

Regional Road Rep
Local Personal Service Supported By Regional Repairs
Get to know the musicians in your area so you can help them when instruments are broken.
No sales, just service.
Daily Life
Schedule
You are your own boss. You set your schedule. Get to know your clients, then develop a schedule that works for you both. Have somewhere you need to go - go; have a project that needs your attention - give it. You manage your time.
Frequency of Visits
Discover what your clients need, then meet those needs. Weekly visits seem to work best, but some clients may not need you that frequently. The better you know your clients, the more efficient you can be with your time.
Client List
You'll have access to our repair software. This is where you'll find and add clients. You can use it to send messages, texts, etc.
Ways To The Client
Musicians need other musicians in their lives! Offer a clinic, run a sectional, bring their favorite drink, be genuine. If you're a nice person who enjoys people, you'll be successful.
Shipping Instruments
Each day ends at the UPS store. You'll have a small box that plugs into your car's power to print labels for each instrument and a UPS label for the box you send. Get a box from UPS (charged to my account), package up the instruments, print the label and leave. Simple. When instruments are completed, they will be sent back directly to the client.
Your Clients, Your Area
To help you be successful, we only allow one rep per geographic area. Your area is probably open, so contact us and let's start helping musicians together.
Job Specifics
Contract, not W2
You will be an independent contractor, not an employee, and will receive a 1099. You're running your own small business here.

The only money I have to pay you comes from completed repairs. The more you send in, the more you get paid. There are additional income sources - see below.
Benefits
As an independent contractor, there are no benefits other than bringing joy to those around you by offering quality repair related services.
Vehicle & Phone
You'll use your own vehicle and Phone. We will provide the printers and have you download an app on your phone to link into our phone system. A monthly allowance will be given to help offset the expenses you incur on your vehicle.
Expenses
Boxes used to ship instruments will be charged by UPS to our account. Labels will be provided. Fuel expenses are part of doing business and will be offset by the monthly allowance.
Additional Income Sources
In addition to repair services, we also offer Repair Masterclass and Maintenance Mondays. Repair Masterclass provides instrument repair training to musicians. Maintenance Mondays is designed for the classroom and with short weekly videos, demonstrates how students can stay out of the shop.
Sales or Service
This is not a sales gig. You're just making it easy for musicians by providing them great customer service and easy access to instrument repairs.
You're going to have more questions. Rather than droning on here, just call and let's chat. This is a great opportunity to stay in touch with area musicians by providing them a great service. It's a great gig. Let's chat about your questions. If you're ready, then apply.
REPAIR TECHNICIANS
High Quality Repairs Are Worth The Price
As musicians, we name our instruments. They're a part of us, and when they're not working well, neither are we.
Repair techs make it possible for musicians to play at their best. There are not many techs currently in the world and this makes them even more valuable. At Premium Music Products, we provide Instrument Repair services, when caught up, we teach others how to fix instruments.
Daily Life
Shop Environment
Of all the shops I've owned or worked in, this one's my favorite. The shop is located in my home, and it's a busy place full of awesome people. My dog and cat visit us when they're bored, clients visit too, music is shared sometimes but most often we adorn headphones for personal bliss. There is a large city park the shop looks over so walk breaks are frequent and lunch on the deck together is standard. It's a friendly place.
Structure
I hire techs because I can't do all the work myself, but it has to look as if I did. All work is inspected by me before it ships and this pays into KPI #3. We all have things to learn from one another, so share your skills.
Team
I like coming to work every day because the people I choose to have around me are awesome. This is why our interview process is extensive, we want to make sure we are a great fit for one another. You'll meet everyone before you're hired and find out if you like them or not. If you do, and you will, then join us.
Training
Develop is not just word in our core values, it's an expectation. People need constant attention to progress and we want everyone to progress, both in trade skills and in life. We spend time each week working on both.
Job Specifics
Key Performance Indicators
As a working technician myself, I understand fully that income comes only when we're working at our bench. Every aspect of our business is designed to maximize this time so we can be as productive as possible and earn more money. We measure performance using the following KPI's, Key Performance Indicators:
KPI #1: Working Time
Instruments are fixed by those who show up to work. 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year is what we are selling our production on. Be here and earn.
KPI #2: Bill Rate Per Work Hour
Total amount you invoiced divided by the number of hours worked. Get this ratio up to earn more. We hire prep techs to help you keep this number up, we offer software and systems to support this number staying high so you earn at your maximum potential.
KPI #3: Quality of Finished Work
I too have KPI's I'm attempting to hit, and every time you come asking for an approval, time is take away from my bench. I want to help, don't get me wrong, but I want you to succeed more. To incentivize you focusing on a job well done, I pay a bonus every time you bring a horn ready to ship upon 1st approval.
Benefits
Currently, you eat only what you kill here. You'll earn plenty, far more than in most shops because of our payment structure, but we do not offer a benefits package.
